Background:
Due to our close working relationship with LiMar Oil Tools we were offered a set of their latest design YoYo subs to trial with a customer in New Zealand who is looking to push the commonly perceived deviation working envelope of slickline in their sidetracked wells.
This would offer large cost & time savings compared to the initial program to utilize a Wireline tractor to complete the wells.
Support:
LS Well Interventions provides ongoing remote support, when required an on-site supervisor to assist in operations. Putting together our combined 40 years wireline experience we work with the customer to reach their goals.
Technical:
A 2.125” UHD toolstring complete with LiMar Oil Tools proprietary connections and 4 YoYo subs fitted with 2.6” Roller balls, which have been sized to give minimum rolling friction and maximum access through all the proposed well bore restrictions.
To provide maximum jar impact when required a UHD Accelerator and K>Netic Hydraulic Mechanical Jar was supplied. This combination of Accelerator, Jar and toolstring connection can safely work at jar release tensions up to 4000lbs and provide impacts in excess of 150,000 lbs.
The Operating company have been so impressed with the performance of this package they have recently added a second toolstring to utilize during concurrent operations.
Performance:
Well Profile
A new completion was run with a 3.813” PX plug installed at surface. Upon setting of the completion, the SSD profile was at 4872.5m KB & 75.34 degrees deviation. Due to well profile the toolstring was run in over 70 degrees deviation from 1820m KB.
Runs Completed
Run #1
The completion was drifted with a 3.75” fluted drift and the PX prong recovered from 4872mKB with a 3” Jar up tool.
Run #2
4” GS Pulling tool deployed with dogs removed and a brass pin to check shear off capability. Toolstring was recovered & the GS shear pin had been successfully sheared.
Run #3
4”GS pulling tool deployed with latching dogs installed and a brass pin. The 3.813” XN plug body was latched and successfully jarred free from the profile @ 4872.5m KB.
Run #4
3.813” B shifting tool used to successfully shift the sleeve upwards to open at 4872.5m KB.
Run #5
3.813” B shifting tool used to unsuccessfully shift the SSD downwards at 4872.5m KB.
Summary:
The plug was successfully recovered and SSD shifted upwards at over 75 degrees deviation at a depth of 4872.5m KB in 4 runs, 1 miss run.
The Operator saved Wireline rig up/down time for switching from Slickline to Wireline and 3 costly tractor runs.
